Dian Chi Birds (video still)

Dian Chi is set in a picturesque landscape near Kunming. This video work depicts birds swooping for food in a calligraphic ballet. Filters which emulate celluloid film reference the passing of time, envisioning the future when this may be historical only – such is the extent of the microcystis algal overgrowth polluting the lake and its shores.
